To be honest, this is the first time I’ve noticed this particular celebrity in mainstream Pinoy entertainment (I’m a Filipino-American, go figure). Vice Ganda is his name?
Anyway, he makes quite a speech on this episode of Showtime on ABS-CBN. I find it an interesting moment, blatantly touching on the ethics of judging for a competition show, especially in a country like the Philippines where personal life stories are often used as the key to win the hearts of the audience. He speaks the truth. Just thought I’d share this thought with you guys.
I don’t really watch shows like this, and I know absolutely nothing about Vice Ganda aside from the fact that he’s a guy and he’s gay, but I have to say that after watching this clip I found respect for him. Or her. Whatever he/she wants to be called. It’s work, someone’s bound to get hurt, and people are going to take it personally. But I guess I never did think about it from the point of view of the judge.
Wala lang. I just found this clip touching. :)
